Hyderabad, Sept 16: Indian girls are known for their beauty and brains, but Nina Davuluri (an American originally from Andhra's Krishna District) topped the Miss America competition, leaving behind all the 52 American contestants, for her talent in Bollywood dance style.
In fact, she is the first Indian American to be chosen to be Miss America. Representing New York in the competition, this 24 year-old is the first person of Indian descent to win the beauty pageant. But, this achievement of her's is not the only one. Earlier she has won the title of Miss New York and dreams to become a physician with the scholarship amount of $50,000, she had won. Born in Syracuse, she moved to Oklahoma aged four and then to Michigan when she was 10. Six years ago, her family moved to Fayetteville. Nina's Father is a gynaecologist.
